ROOFTOP JAM DURING COVID

A Musical Challenge During confinement

During the COVID.19 period, I found myself wondering how to continue making music while being confined to my home. So, I set myself a challenge and brought together my musical neighbours to perform a piece from their respective balconies and rooftops.

CONCEPT

The title Nowhere to Run truly took on its literal meaning: it was a way to break free from constraints and limitations, exploring new ways to connect, create, and experience music—even from a distance.

Using drones, we were able to connect each individual apartment, balcony and rooftop with audio cables, extending and restoring a physical web of connection above the empty commercial street below.

From a ghost town came life, as we connected each instrument and musician to my sound card, allowing for musical life and reconnection to take place once more (albeit from a distance). This resulted in the live performance of “Nowhere to Run” which became a viral sensation, a beacon of hope, with a twist of comedy, shared across several social platforms, radio channels and ultimately, the Swiss television.
